About Dr Yoko Tomita

Yoko graduated with Bachelor of Science (Med), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from University of New South Wales in 2006. Following completion of Basic Physician Training and 2 years of Advanced Training in Medical Oncology in Perth, Western Australia, she moved to Adelaide to take up a position of Clinical Research Fellow in Gastrointestinal Cancer at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Yoko has recently completed Master of Science in Molecular Pathology and Genomics through Barts Cancer Institute in London, UK and is currently undertaking PhD at the University of Adelaide, examining novel cancer therapeutics against colorectal cancer.

Yoko has interest in gastrointestinal cancer, gynaecological cancer and head and neck cancer. She continues to actively participate in both pre-clinical and clinical cancer research and trials with the aim to improve the outcome of cancer patients.
