About A/Prof Ian Lewis

A/Prof Lewis graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1987. After completing his internship and basic physician training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, A/Prof Lewis trained in haematology at the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science and the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Following successful completion of a PhD, he undertook a Fellowship in Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at the University of Minnesota.

A/Prof Lewis joined Adelaide Oncology and Haematology as an Associate in February 2018. His areas of interest include lymphoma, myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative disorders as well as general haematology.

A/Prof Lewis has previously held the position of Vice President of the Haematology Society of Australia & New Zealand along with a number of positions in numerous societies. He was a founding member of the South Australian Intravenous Immunoglobulin User Group and has served as the Deputy Chair, Scientific Advisory Committee, of the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group. A/Prof Lewis held the position of Clinical Associate Professor within the Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Adelaide up until mid 2019. He has published widely on various aspects of fundamental and applied haematological research.
