About Julia Triggs

Julia is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Nutritionist. She completed a Bachelor of Science in 2004 at Adelaide University and a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University in 2008. She has worked as a Clinical Dietitian at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital since 2009 where she specializes in nutrition for gastrointestinal cancers and surgery. Julia is an active member of the SA Gastrointestinal Dietitians Group, the SA Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Multidisciplinary Team and the Dietitians Association of Australia. She provides clinical supervision and training for undergraduate and postgraduate Nutrition and Dietetic students and started a private Dietetic consulting practice in 2012 where she enjoys providing tailored and individualized dietary advice on a range of topics in particular gastrointestinal cancer and disease, gastrointestinal surgery, bariatric surgery, obesity and weight loss, IBS and liver disease. 

Julia is also experienced in the management of home enteral nutrition (gastrostomy/jejunostomy feeding) and oral nutrition support and has had over 8 years experience  in helping patients optimize their nutrition during cancer treatment and surgery.

Julia believes in a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to patient centred health care and has enjoyed being part of many multidisciplinary teams over the years. 

Medicare may rebate some of the fee if you have a GP Management Plan for the management of chronic disease. Alternatively private health insurance may rebate some of the cost. DVA rebates are also available with appropriate referrals.
